About us
Our venue is situated just a few steps away from the Otelu-Rosu town center, in this picturesque town that glimmers in the Bistra Valley for almost 300 years, in a shape that has changed very little. The town developed in this valley, which the Romans called Ohaba and that, later - under Austro-Hungarian rule - became known as Ohaba Mare.

At the Austro-Hungarian withdrawal from these parts, the land on which, among others, the hotel is currently built on, was sold to a German businessman by the name of Ferdinand. It was he who continued the industrial traditions of the area and built an iron and steel plant. This significant contribution to the area's economical development led to the fact that the town was renamed after the german investor - Ferdinand. On the spot currently occupied by our hotel, he had build a villa, which he also used to hold business meetings with his partners - the villa was named Fernanda

Later on, during the communist regime, the steel plant was nationalised and was dubbed "Uzina Siderurgica Otelu-Rosu" (which literally translates to "Red Steel Plant"), along with the town being renamed to something that suited the communist symbols better - Otelu-Rosu ( literally "Red Steel").

After the 1989 Revolution, the Bistra Valley witnessed the beginning of the growth of private initiative and modernisation, the valley attracted a number of investors who took part in it's economical development. Among these, your host, mr. Marius Bârsilã, distinguishes himself by his business success, equaled only by his high moral fiber and his welcome initiatives towards the development of the Bistra Valley area.

This hotel is his most recent venture, and it came only naturally after the success of his other projects (which led to the creation of hundreds of job opportunities for the local workforce) and his indisputable contribution to the town's economic growth.
